Transforming the patterns that shape your relationships and your inner life
When caught in the same cycle, it can be hard to see a way through. Some may have the insight to understand what’s going on, others may not. Many of us get stuck at some point in our lives and counseling can help. Relationship and mental health symptoms often follow common patterns that can be understood and changed. Common symptoms include:
With Others: Feeling stuck, difficulty compromising or communicating, repeated conflict or escalation around specific topics, not feeling heard, difficulty understanding your partner.
With Yourself: Feeling scatterbrained, indecisive, loss of appetite, boundary concerns, loneliness, self-doubt, people pleasing or feeling irritable.

Couples & Marriage Counseling
We learn how to navigate our relationships through what was modeled before us. If we aren’t shown healthy conflict and connection, we may get stuck in repetitive, escalating and avoidant cycles.
At Tempe Trails Counseling, we use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to shift from surface level problems to deeper emotional engagement. The goal is to create a secure foundation, working together each session in the present moment to break through negative cycles and elicit each other toward a deeper sense of understanding and connection, giving you the tools to navigate challenges in your own unique way.
Individual Counseling
We all carry internal blueprints from our past that inform how we move through the world today. If you feel stuck in repetitive cycles, it can be a helpful signal that our relationship to ourself and others may need attending to.
The ways we learned to cope in the past may not fit our present circumstances, and thankfully old blueprints can be understood and changed.
Using depth-oriented and relational approaches, we’ll move beyond talking about problems to working toward experiencing shifts in each session.
In Person & Online Couples Therapy Options:
choosing the right approach for your needs
Choosing how we meet is all about what fits your life. While the setting changes, the effectiveness doesn't.
The In-Person Experience: Meeting face-to-face at the Tempe office provides a dedicated space away from the noise of daily life. Being in the same room helps us capture the subtle non-verbal cues and emotional shifts that can sometimes get lost on a screen. It creates a natural boundary to step out of your routine and fully invest in your relationship.
The Online (Telehealth) Experience: Online couples counseling offers flexibility without sacrificing quality. Utilizing a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, we can connect as long as you are located in Arizona and have a safe, private space. It’s a highly convenient option for busy schedules, eliminating commutes, or accommodating partners who are logistically separated. And yes—research shows it is just as effective as sitting on the therapy couch.
Meet Your Therapist
Hi, my name is Brenton Wejrowski. I focus on helping adults and couples navigate difficulties related to attachment, relationships, and emotion regulation. This can often look like feeling stuck in the same old patterns, feeling frozen, or feeling scatterbrained. I take a research based, collaborative approach to help understand your goals, emotions, needs, and barriers to feeling progress. Together, we’ll work to understand how your past and present relationships and environment influence your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, working to create meaningful shifts that extend beyond each session. I am a licensed professional counselor in Arizona who works with adults, couples, adolescents, and parents. I speak Spanish as well!
